Since June 2019, we have installed laser distance sensors for continuous monitoring during construction work on the U-Bahn in Berlin. The measurements are combined and displayed in a dashboard for the managers. These measurements provide a comprehensive view of the safety of the tracks, sections, and construction.
Combination of High-Frequency Laser Distance, Tilt, and Acceleration Measurements
In collaboration with engineering firm GIM from Berlin https://www.gim-vermessung.com/, we have installed a complete monitoring system for a major renovation and renewal project.
The system consists of a combination of tilt, acceleration, laser distance, and tachymeter measurements. All measurements are performed at high frequency and can be monitored live via the internet by the manager.
Alarms are set on various measurements as indicated by the manager, so that if there are any anomalies, the manager receives an immediate notification and can assess whether further action is needed.
Additionally, we have created a special dashboard to view all different signals in context, providing better interpretation of the data.
