StabiAlert

Weir De Haandrik

At the end of June 2018, StabiAlert, commissioned by Waterschap Vechtstromen and in collaboration with Fieldlab Camino, installed sensors on the De Haandrik Weir. The goal is to provide more insight into the condition of the weir and to make better life cycle predictions. Based on our measurements, the water authority could decide to repair rather than replace, saving millions!

Information for the Water Authority
The Haandrik weir is already 100 years old, and the water authority wants insight into the deformation behavior of the weir during daily use. By continuously measuring deformation and vibrations, StabiAlert helps obtain this insight. Based on the measurements, we can better predict if and when the sluice is at the end of its life cycle. The sensors will remain in place for at least 14 months, making the influences of the seasons visible. FieldLab Camino
The project was made possible by Fieldlab Camino. FieldLab Camino has various projects in the field of Water and Rail, with the aim of achieving better and more affordable maintenance of infrastructure works through innovative measurement techniques.
